A confidential inpatient behavioral health program in the Tampa area is seeking a Psychiatrist Medical Director to lead psychiatric care delivery while remaining clinically involved.
This role is designed for a physician who is confident in hospital-based psychiatry, comfortable working with high-acuity patients, and able to bring structure, accountability, and clear clinical direction to a multidisciplinary team.
What You’ll Do- Provide psychiatric leadership for an inpatient behavioral health program
- Evaluate and treat patients while overseeing quality of psychiatric care
- Guide treatment planning, medication management, and acute stabilization
- Collaborate with facility leadership, nursing, therapy, case management, and utilization review
- Support provider performance, documentation standards, patient safety, and clinical consistency
- Supervise or collaborate with APPs and psychiatric providers as needed
- MD or DO in Psychiatry
- Board Certified or Board Eligible
- Active Florida license preferred, or ability to obtain
- Strong inpatient psychiatry experience
- Prior Medical Director, Associate Medical Director, CMO, Unit Director, or senior attending leadership experience preferred
- Adult inpatient experience strongly preferred
- Addiction, geriatric, C&A, or dual-diagnosis experience is a plus
- Strong communication style with the ability to lead teams and set expectations
- Leadership seat in a Tampa-area inpatient behavioral health setting
- Compensation up to $420K
