As EPIC Health continues to grow, we are looking for an Administrative Fellow who is interested in developing a career in healthcare administration, practice management, and healthcare operations.
This paid, 12-month fellowship provides hands-on exposure to the day-to-day management of healthcare operations while giving the Fellow opportunities to work on meaningful projects, analyze performance, improve workflows, and learn directly from experienced operational leaders.
The Administrative Fellow will participate in a structured, hands-on development experience designed to prepare the individual for future leadership roles within healthcare operations.
The Fellow will work closely with Practice Managers, District and Operations leadership, and cross-functional teams to gain exposure to clinic operations, financial and operational performance, staffing, patient experience, quality, process improvement, provider operations, and strategic initiatives.
This is not a purely observational fellowship. The Fellow will be expected to learn by doing, take ownership of assigned projects, analyze data, identify opportunities for improvement, and contribute to the day-to-day success of EPIC Health operations.
The fellowship is intended to provide a strong foundation for future opportunities in Practice Management, Operations Management, District Management, or other healthcare leadership roles.
What You'll Do
Healthcare Operations & Practice Management
- Gain hands-on exposure to the daily operations of outpatient healthcare practices.
- Work alongside Practice Managers and operational leaders to understand staffing, scheduling, patient flow, workflows, and clinic performance.
- Learn how operational decisions affect patient experience, provider productivity, financial performance, quality, and access.
- Assist with identifying operational challenges and developing practical solutions.
- Participate in the implementation and standardization of operational processes across practices.
Performance & Data Analysis
- Monitor and analyze operational and clinical performance metrics and KPIs.
- Assist leadership with identifying trends, performance gaps, and opportunities for improvement.
- Support the development and tracking of action plans.
- Analyze productivity, patient volume, access, staffing, quality, revenue, and other relevant operational data.
- Translate data into practical recommendations for operational leadership.
Process Improvement & Project Management
- Participate in process improvement initiatives designed to improve efficiency, quality, patient experience, and team performance.
- Assist with developing and implementing standardized workflows, procedures, and best practices.
- Take ownership of assigned operational projects from planning through implementation.
- Support new initiatives, service-line development, technology implementations, and organizational change projects.
- Help document processes and identify opportunities for automation, efficiency, and scalability.
Leadership & Team Development
- Work alongside Practice Managers and other leaders to learn effective team leadership and performance management.
- Participate in staff meetings, leadership meetings, and operational discussions.
- Assist with employee onboarding, training, engagement, and retention initiatives.
- Learn how leaders establish expectations, provide coaching, address performance concerns, and build accountable teams.
- Develop practical leadership and communication skills through hands-on experience.
Provider & Clinical Operations
- Develop an understanding of the relationship between clinical operations and business performance.
- Work collaboratively with physicians, APPs, nurses, medical assistants, and other clinical team members.
- Assist with identifying opportunities to improve provider workflows, patient access, and care delivery.
- Learn how operational leaders support providers while maintaining quality, compliance, and patient-centered care.
Cross-Functional & Strategic Initiatives
- Collaborate with teams including Operations, Clinical, Revenue Cycle, HR, Finance, IT, Marketing, and other corporate functions.
- Gain exposure to how different departments work together to support healthcare practices.
- Participate in organizational growth initiatives, new-location launches, and other strategic projects.
- Help develop solutions that can be standardized and scaled across multiple locations.
- Present findings, recommendations, and project updates to leadership.
Fellowship Development
Throughout the 12-month fellowship, the Administrative Fellow will receive exposure to key areas of healthcare administration, including:

The Fellow will progressively take on greater responsibility and independence as their knowledge, skills, and understanding of healthcare operations develop.
What You Bring
- Master's degree in Healthcare Administration (MHA), Business Administration (MBA), Public Health (MPH), or a related field, preferably completed within the last two years or currently completing the program.
- Strong interest in healthcare administration, operations, and leadership.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to work with data, identify trends, and develop actionable recommendations.
- Strong communication, organization, and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines.
- Demonstrated initiative, accountability, and willingness to learn.
- Strong proficiency with Microsoft Office, particularly Excel and PowerPoint.
- Ability to work effectively with both clinical and administrative teams.
- Healthcare experience, internship, residency, or previous administrative experience is preferred but not required.
