Directs, administers and coordinates the daily activities of the licensed care areas of Mennonite Memorial Home (MMH) and Willow Ridge (WR), Bluffton, Ohio campus in support of policies, goals, and objectives established by the Brethren Retirement Community Board of Directors and Bylaws, including the mission and core values contained therein, except as otherwise required by applicable law. Acts as the Licensed Nursing Home Administrator.
Essential duties and responsibilities include the following. Other duties may be assigned.
Directs the preparation of short-term departmental goals and participates in the development of organizational goals and objectives.
Oversees directors and supervisors relating to direct departmental activities that implement organizational policies.
Assists in the implementation of departmental programs that meet corporate goals and objectives.
Create innovative ways to gain employee commitment to the organization's mission and vision. Educate staff and model to others excellent customer service.
Participates in the preparation of the annual budget and monitors the budget in various areas such as census, FTE's and supplies.
Creates the structure and processes necessary to manage reporting department organizations current activities and projected growth.
Maintains a sound plan of departmental organization, establishing processes to ensure adequate development and management succession.
Develops and installs procedures and controls to promote communication and adequate information flow within departmental organizations.
Evaluates the results of reporting MMH & WR operations regularly and systematically and reports these results to the MHCO - COO.
Ensures that the responsibilities, authorities, and accountability of all direct subordinates are defined and understood.
Ensures that all reporting organization's' activities and operations are carried out in compliance with local, state and federal regulations and laws governing business operations.
Direct and control assigned operations and information to maintain sound privacy and security practices and prevent privacy or security breaches. If a breach occurs, take corrective action.
Attends workshops and seminars to keep updated on changes in long-term care
Supervisory responsibilities
Manages the day to day operational responsibilities of the licensed care & independent living areas of MMH & WR. All employees are managed through your direct report supervision who in turn manage MMH & WR employees. Is responsible for the overall direction, coordination and evaluation of these staff. Carries out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organization's policies and applicable laws. Responsibilities include interviewing, hiring and training employees; planning, assigning and directing work; appraising performance; rewarding and discipling employees; addressing complaints and resolving problems.

Education and/or experience Bachelor's degree (BA) or equivalent; or six to seven years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience. Active Nursing Home Administrator license in good standing. Knowledge of Ohio Department of Health and HCFA rules and regulations.
Language skills Ability to read, analyze and interpret the most complex documents. Ability to respond effectively to the most sensitive inquiries or complaints. Ability to write speeches and articles using original and innovative techniques or styles. Ability to make effective and persuasive speeches and presentations on controversial or complex topics to top management, public groups and/or board of directors.
Reasoning and analytical ability Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions. Ability to interpret and extensive variety of technical instructions and deal with several abstract and concrete variables. Ability to review data and properly analyze using mathematical concepts such as fractions, percentages, ratios, and projections.
