JOBPURPOSESUMMARY
This position is responsible for facilitating or leading ARD committee meetings, as well as assisting with the consistent fulfillment of applicable local, state, and federal compliance guidelines and requirements as they pertain to students being considered for, or receiving, special education and related services.
KEYFUNCTIONS,ESSENTIALDUTIES,ANDRESPONSIBILITIES
Admission,Review&Discharge(ARD)
1. Attends ARD committee meetings and serves as the District representative.
2. Ensures the proposal of specially designed instruction to meet the unique needs of children with disabilities
3. Prepares and finalizes required ARD committee documents and related information including, without limitation, Individualized Education Program (IEP) amendments, transfer agreements, and students identified as speech only.
4. Interfaces regularly with administrators, peers, and families to ensure timely and complete communication of pertinent information and related details, as appropriate.
5. Facilitates ARD committee meetings, and ensures ARD committee meetings meet the applicable requirements including, without limitation, required committee member attendance and stakeholder input.
6. Ensures parents/guardians are provided with all applicable ARD committee documents and related information, as appropriate.
7. Ensures monitoring teachers' Present Level of Academic Achievement and Functional Performance (PLAAFP), Goals/Objectives, and accommodation proposals are made prior to the ARD, or as otherwise stipulated, and are provided to parents/guardians in a timely manner.
8. Guides participation efforts in decisions involving placement based on educational, social, and behavioral data presented to the ARD committee.
9. Addresses questions and fosters collaborative dialogue with families and school personnel in relation to the ARD committee process.
10. Ensures documentation of the implementation efforts associated with each student's IEP is maintained in accordance with applicable established guidelines and protocols.
11. Assists in the organization and retention of state eligibility records and corresponding information.
12. Utilizes the applicable special education-oriented technology system(s) of record for purposes of documenting information and details including, but not limited to, ARD/IEP Committee activity, PLAAFP, IEP goals and objectives development efforts, Public Education Information Management System (PEIMS) coding, progress monitoring, data collections, as well as other relevant aspects of the ARD/IEP process in accordance with applicable District guidelines.
13. Collaborates with local campus testing personnel to ensure state and local testing accommodations are properly implemented and aligned with student testing needs and with applicable state and federal compliance requirements.

14. Performs all duties and tasks in a manner consistent with all applicable policies, procedures, and practices within the Department and District, with all applicable local, state, and federal regulatory requirements, as well as with all applicable guidelines, standards, and requirements set forth by governing bodies including, without limitation, Texas Health & Human Services, Texas Education Code, State Board of Education, Texas Education Agency, and Texas Association of School Boards.
15. Stays abreast of federal, state, District, and school regulations and policies applicable to the development and implementation of IEDs, as well as the ARD facilitation process, and ensures consistent compliance with such requirements.
16. Demonstrates applicable standards and practices of professional conduct and care in the performance of the job function.
17. Monitors respective work activity, and the work activity of others, for variances and anomalies.
18. Identifies and timely reports any known or suspected compliance issues to appropriate personnel.
19. Participates, as assigned, in audits and in the preparation for audits, whether initiated internally or externally.
20. Adheres to all other District-wide policies and procedures including, but not limited to, human resources, safety, and emergency protocols.

26. Demonstrates proficient working knowledge and understanding of Microsoft Excel, Word, PowerPoint, and Outlook, Google Shared applications including Google Sheets, Google Docs, and Google Slides, as well as database systems and applications relevant to the job function.
27. Performs other duties as assigned.
MINIMUMEDUCATION,EXPERIENCE&CREDENTIALREQUIREMENTS
- Masters Degree or active progress towards a Masters
- Active, In Good Standing, and Duly Obtained Texas Teacher Certification
- Three years of experience working in a same or similar capacity; or
- An equivalent combination of education and work experience

PHYSICALREQUIREMENTS&WORKINGCONDITIONS
This position requires frequent sitting, walking, and standing for extended periods of time, as well as frequent reading, seeing, speaking, hearing, listening, organizing, interpreting data and information, operating office equipment, typing using a computer keyboard and mouse, viewing a computer screen monitor, and use of a telephone. This position may require occasional to frequent lifting, carrying and/or moving of objects of up to 15 lbs or more. The working environment consists of an indoor and climate-controlled setting the majority of the time with occasional exposure to an outdoor and non-climate controlled setting.
