Adult Education - Career Counselor/Case Manager

Under general supervision, the Adult Education Career Counselor / Case Manager provides comprehensive educational, vocational, and case management support to adult learners enrolled in adult literacy, high school equivalency (HSE/GED), ESOL, and workforce training programs. This position is responsible for assessing adult students' skills and barriers, providing individual and group career guidance, developing individualized career pathways, and connecting students with community resources, post-secondary education, or employment opportunities. The role acts as a bridge between academic instruction, barrier reduction, and career placement to promote long-term self-sufficiency and retention.

Terms of employment include a full-time, 12-month, tenure track assignment with a competitive salary, negotiable based on qualifications and experience, and a full complement of health benefits. This position reports to the Program Coordinator and does not supervise any staff.

Qualifications, experience, and competencies include a bachelor's degree in counseling, psychology, or a related field or equivalent experience working with adults seeking career counseling. At least 6 months of counseling individuals or groups is required. Candidates should have knowledge of databases, excellent organizational skills, knowledge of community resources, and a willingness to help others; report writing, exceptional communication skills (internal and external), and excellent listening skills. Duties and responsibilities include instruction in employment skills, career counseling/planning, case management, community outreach and networking, and employment services and follow-up. Evaluation is conducted by the Program Coordinator with a salary range of $40,000- $55,000.
