Aggregate Maintenance Operator

The Aggregate Maintenance Operator performs a combination of duties involving general maintenance/operation of a recycle track plant. Responsibilities include completing daily service requirements of lime and recycle plants for preventative maintenance issues, troubleshooting and resolving maintenance problems to ensure minimum cost and prevent operational delays, monitoring, repairing, and changing worn parts, general maintenance and welding for wear prevention of equipment, operating loader and other equipment as needed, and general labor duties such as shoveling and sweeping.

Education requirements/qualifications include the ability to work under pressure, availability to work overtime; extended hours and weekend work as required for timely project completion, flexibility with work location; plants are portable, working with minimal supervision, ability to work in all weather conditions; work majority is outside at a mobile crushing facility, ability to lift 95 lbs. infrequently, 50 lbs. frequently, and climb stairs/ladders up to 24', and ability to use various electric and air-powered hand, welding, and cutting tools as appropriate. Preferred experience includes 4+ years of experience with open-pit sand and gravel operations, working knowledge of aggregate production and associated equipment, and understanding of operations and safety requirements for the equipment, experience in welding and fabrication, and familiarity with MSHA regulations; MSHA annual refresher training.

Conditions of employment include a post-offer pre-employment physical examination, drug/alcohol screen, and background check. Some positions require Federal Motor Carrier Safety Administration (FMCSA) registration/clearance as well as ongoing alcohol and drug testing. For work that will be performed in the San Francisco area, qualified applicants with arrest and conviction records will be considered for employment.
