Ambulatory Transporter - Certified Healthcare Transporter

Efficiently and safely transport patients, wheelchairs, stretchers, and traction equipment between nursing units and ancillary departments. Properly use transport equipment while adhering to safety protocols. Maintain and clean equipment to ensure operability. Support nursing philosophies to enhance patient care quality.

Must hold current CPR certification for Healthcare Providers. Completion of Nonviolent Crisis Intervention (NCI) training and knowledge of Restraints, Seclusion, and Safety devices is required. Certification as a healthcare transporter is necessary.

At least one year of experience in patient transportation services preferred, ideally within a hospital setting. Demonstrated ability to care for patients across all age groups including pediatric, adolescent, adult, bariatric, and geriatric populations.

Ability to operate and regulate flow meters on E-Cylinders. Capable of discharging/transferring patients and maneuvering wheelchairs and stretchers, including post-mortem transport. Must be able to perform moderate to heavy lifting and assume awkward positions as needed. Strong customer service, problem-solving, organizational, and interpersonal skills are essential. Ability to quickly assess situations and respond appropriately is critical. Must complete all mandatory competencies within a 90-day probationary period.

Ability to move throughout assigned areas and medical facilities in the regional healthcare network. Must be able to stand, walk, and bend for extended periods. Speech, visual, and auditory acuity are necessary for effective communication. Position may involve contact with blood or bodily fluids.
