Historic Old Town Administration

The administration of the historically grown old town in the suburban area of Stuttgart includes the departments of urban development, environmental planning and geoinformation as well as city and building planning in the city planning office.

Responsibilities

  • Professional, organizational and personnel leadership as well as management of the city planning office
  • Development and implementation of urban planning concepts and building regulations
  • Project and budget responsibility for significant urban development measures
  • Accompaniment and management of the redesign of streets and infrastructure projects
  • Ensuring a climate-efficient and sustainable city planning
  • Structural shaping within the office and the city development
  • Close coordination with mayor and city manager in strategic questions
  • Development and presentation of decision-making bases for the municipal bodies
  • Cooperation with political bodies, investors and citizens
  • Management and accompaniment of commissioned engineering offices (planning, awarding, leadership, billing)

Qualification

  • Proven professional experience in city and building planning
  • Very good knowledge of urban planning law, building code and specialist planning
  • Leadership experience and competence as well as self-assured conduct
  • Strong communication skills on an equal footing, negotiation skills and assertiveness
  • Profound organizational and decision-making ability
  • Structured, self-reliant and solution-oriented working method
  • High level of team capability, flexibility, creativity and commitment
  • Friendly, collegial manner and willingness to interdisciplinary cooperation
  • Completed study of architecture, city planning or a comparable field with a focus on city and environmental planning
