This role offers the opportunity to work collaboratively with fellowship-trained orthopedic spine surgeons in a dynamic, high-volume practice serving a diverse patient population.The APP will provide comprehensive care across the continuum, including outpatient clinic, inpatient rounding, perioperative management, and first assist in the operating room.Key Responsibilities * Perform comprehensive history and physical examinations for spine patients * Order and interpret diagnostic tests, imaging, and labs * Develop and implement evidence-based treatment plans * Provide pre-operative and post-operative care * First assist in spine surgical procedures * Conduct inpatient rounds and coordinate discharge planning * Educate patients and families regarding diagnosis, treatment options, and recovery * Collaborate with surgeons, nursing staff, therapy services, and care coordination teams * Document accurately and timely in the electronic medical recordQualifications * Graduate of an accredited Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant program * Board certification as an NP or PA-C * Current Virginia licensure (or eligibility) * Previous orthopedic or spine experience preferred * Surgical first assist experience preferred * Strong clinical judgment and excellent communication skills * Commitment to high-quality, patient-centered careWork Environment & Schedule * Combination of clinic, OR, and hospital rounding * Full-time position * Shared call responsibilities (if applicable) * Supportive, team-based practice modelCompensation & Benefits * Competitive salary and comprehensive benefits package * CME allowance and professional development support * Retirement savings plan with employer match * Paid malpractice coverage * Generous PTOWhy Roanoke?Located in the scenic Blue Ridge Mountains, Roanoke offers a vibrant community with outdoor recreation, cultural amenities, and a high quality of life.
