Aquatics - Pool Shift Supervisors Part-Time

Weekday evenings, Saturdays 8:30 am - 4:00 pm; Sunday evenings 3:30 pm - 4:00 pm; possible additional hours due to rentals. Must be available a minimum of two weekends per month. Location: Roosevelt Middle.

Duties:

• Responsible for opening and closing facility.
• Manage admission and registration.
• Assist with observation and evaluation of swim instructors and lifeguards.
• Attend and co-lead monthly staff inservice training.
• Communicate regularly with Aquatics Supervisor regarding pool/lesson issues.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

Minimum Qualifications:

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Experience supervising and training staff.
• Experience in teaching swim lessons, lifeguarding, and swim coaching (all or some combination of experience).
• Excellent organizational, communication, and interpersonal skills.
• Strong computer skills.
• Current American Red Cross Water Safety Instructor Certificate in Lifeguarding or the ability to acquire certification in the first six months of hire.
• Ability to work with large groups of people.
• Ability to maintain regular attendance, which includes completing an assigned day.
• Must be able to lift a minimum of 50 pounds.
• Ability to perform position responsibilities including physical factors, work devices and materials handling, data functions, and people functions. Must be physically working in the building.

Rate of Pay: $18.22-$20.24/hour - DOQ.
