OverviewWe're looking for a sharp, resourceful professional to work directly alongside the Director of Real Estate across a portfolio of New York City commercial assets. This is a hands-on, in-the-trenches role not a narrow specialty position. You'll touch everything: construction oversight, property and asset management, tenant relations, compliance, asset management, leasing coordination, financing, and whatever else needs doing on a given day.This isn't a role for someone who needs a playbook for every situation. We want someone entrepreneurial a fast learner who can figure things out independently but knows when to flag an issue and ask. Prior real estate experience is a plus, not a prerequisite. What matters is drive, judgment, and the ability to keep multiple workstreams moving without dropping balls.Key ResponsibilitiesServe as the primary operational right hand to the Director, supporting day-to-day execution and longer-term strategic initiatives across the portfolio.Coordinate and track construction projects, vendor deliverables, and property improvement timelines.Manage tenant communications and relations fielding requests, resolving issues, and ensuring follow-through.Support compliance workflows including lease administration, municipal filings, insurance tracking, and regulatory requirements.Prepare materials for ownership meetings, lender updates, and investor reporting.Maintain organized records across properties leases, contracts, inspection reports, budgets, and correspondence.Liaise with property managers, attorneys, brokers, contractors, and building staff to keep projects and operations on track.Track and manage open items, deadlines, and approvals ensuring nothing falls through the cracks.Research and gather information as needed market comps, zoning questions, vendor options, regulatory changes.Anticipate problems and proactively surface solutions rather than waiting to be told what to do.QualificationsMinimum 2 years of professional experience; strong recent college graduates with relevant internship or project experience will also be considered. Real estate, construction, legal, finance, or operations backgrounds are all relevant what matters is horsepower and adaptability.Exceptional organizational skills you can juggle multiple properties, priorities, and personalities simultaneously.Strong written and verbal communication; comfortable engaging with tenants, attorneys, contractors, and ownership alike.Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint). Familiarity with property management or project tracking software is a plus.Comfort with AI tools and AI-assisted workflows is a plus we use technology aggressively to move faster and work smarter.Detail-oriented with a bias toward action you close loops, not just open them.Comfortable in a high-expectation environment where priorities shift and initiative is rewarded.Must be based in New York City and available to work in-office daily.Who You AreYou're the person who sees what needs to happen next and does it without being asked.
