Apply NowEducation: Equivalent to the completion of the twelfth grade Ability: Drive a school bus and other transportation equipment safely and efficiently, exercising sound judgment and extreme caution; maintain proper and positive control of student behavior on a school bus; keep records and prepare reports; understand and follow oral and written directions; be courteous, neat, and clean at all times. Knowledge: Safe driving and defensive driving practices and techniques; California Motor Vehicle Code and Education Code applicable to the operation of school buses and pupil transportation; effective communication skills; pupil management skills.
REQUIREMENTS / QUALIFICATIONS: MUST BE A CURRENT CALIFORNIA STATE CERTIFIED SCHOOL BUS DRIVER OR MUST HAVE COMPLETED THE CALIFORNIA SCHOOL BUS DRIVER'S TRAINING PROGRAM. MUST POSSESS THE FOLLOWING CURRENT CREDENTIALS AND ATTACH ALL CREDENTIALS TO YOUR APPLICATION: California Commercial Driver License Class A or Class B (with P and S endorsements) California Special Driver Certificate Valid for School Bus Operation. Must not have Restrictions 2, 3, 4, and 5. If Restriction 6 is indicated, one must attach First Aid/CPR card from an approved provider list. Application to include a letter of intent, a current resume, and 2 letters of reference (physically signed and dated within the past 3 years). Letters of recommendation written by relatives will not be accepted. Must have a current DL-51 medical certificate and possess a California Special Drivers Certificate. If you have previously been employed by a Local Educational Agency (LEA) or School District, all sections of the Mandatory Employment Disclosure (MED) must be completed.
