Cashier Position at Simply Plated Catering

Simply Plated is seeking a cashier to join our team. The cashier will use cash registers and other related equipment to conduct monetary transactions with customers. The ideal candidate is dependable and reliable with excellent customer service skills, top-notch accuracy, and displays exceptional customer service.

Simply Plated is a full service catering and meal delivery company in Columbus, Ohio.

Positions hours: varies between the hours of 7:00am-3:00pm

Cafe hours: 8:00am-2:00pm

Expected hours per week: 15-20 hours per week

Roles and responsibilities:

• Take direction from the Caf Supervisor
• Greeting customers in a friendly manner and taking food and drink orders
• Serve each customer courteously, quickly, and efficiently with a positive, pleasant, and enthusiastic attitude
• Preparing and serving beverages, ranging from simple to elaborate ones
• Place orders for customers in-person, upsell, and maintain knowledge of menu along with new items and promotions.
• Promoting and recommending menu options to customers
• Accurately process cash, credit card, and gift card transactions
• Operate cash registers, handle cash transactions, and provide accurate change
• Balance the register at the end of the shift and record accurate counts
• Assist grill team when necessary
• Notify grill team of shortages on customer orders
• Restock supplies as needed (before shift, during shift and at end of shift)
• Maintaining inventory and equipment by cleaning, troubleshooting and scheduling repairs
• Keeping the work environment sanitary and organized
• Properly follow caf open and closing procedures.
• Evaluating and modifying processes to improve efficiency and quality of service
• Working to attract new customers and expanding the menu

Preferred qualifications:

• High school diploma required (or equivalent)
• Reliable transportation
• Ability to multi-task and work effectively in a team environment
• Excellent customer service skills
• Excellent verbal communication skills
• Ability to operate available equipment, such as cash registers, calculators, or scanners
• Knowledgeable about the company's products and services and customer-related policies

Our physical requirements:

• Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds
• Must be able to push up to 50 pounds
• Must be able to work standing and walking for extended periods of time
• Can read and interpret recipes, safety rules, operating instructions and procedure manuals
• Must be able to work around food and cleaning products.
