Job Summary: Responsible for maintaining a clean, organized, safe patient environment and assists with patient care activities such as taking vital signs, and assessment. Collaborates with the healthcare team and provides compassionate and empathic family-centered care for the patients and families. Works under the supervision of a RN and in accordance with the hospital policies and procedures. Minimum Job Requirements:
  • C.N.A. certification - active licensure in the State of Florida – must maintain active and in good standing throughout employment
  • CPR: American Heart Healthcare Provider – must maintain active and in good standing throughout employment

Qualifications

Essential Job Duties: Patient Support functions:
  • Provides support with vitals, assessments and informs RN of significant changes; assists patients with activities of daily living to include, personal hygiene, nutrition & comfort measure.
  • Reviews assignments and ensure room setups, ensures clean environment and maintains patient rooms and nursing station at all times.
  • Assists with transporting patients for special procedures and completes transport of patient during discharge process.
  • Greets and welcomes patients, families and visitors; provides encouragement and comfort.  Communicates MCHS services and delivers excellent and timely service and support.
Quality and Safety:
  • Restocks supplies such as gloves, gowns, linen, medical equipment; assists with room preparation and turnover.
  • Proactively identifies opportunities for improvement and promotes/practices cost containment.
  • Performs other assigned tasks to promote efficient practice operation and contributes to the provision of quality patient care.
  • Ensures clean environment and maintains patient rooms and nursing station at all times.
 Common Duties:
  • Maintains accountability to ensure compliance thru timely completion of licensures, certs, competencies, health requirements (PPD, N95, Flu), initial competencies & education requirements.
  • Maintains accountability by meeting service excellence index (SEI) standards and complying with attendance guidelines and procedures. Ensures behavior is compliant with communication standards.
Knowledge/Skills/Abilities
  • High school education or equivalent preferred.
  •  Experience in a healthcare environment is preferred.
  • Computer literate, experience with Electronic Medical Record (EMR) preferred
  • Strong problem solving, critical thinking and conflict resolution skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities and collaborates in a team environment.
  • Strong time management skills.
  • Effective verbal and written communication skills.
  • Ability to effectively work in a collaborative environment and follow the direction of the Registered Nurse and/or Nursing Leader. Ability to apply principles of evidenced-based practice, analytical thinking and service excellence in practice.
