CDL Class A Driver II

The CDL Class A Driver II is responsible for safely transporting hazardous and non-hazardous materials between Reworld facilities and customer locations. This position operates a variety of manual transmission equipment, including tankers, roll-off trucks, and box-style straight-body trucks. Drivers play a critical role in supporting environmental services operations while maintaining compliance with DOT regulations, company policies, and safety standards.

Primary Responsibilities

  • Safely operate commercial vehicles in compliance with DOT regulations and company safety requirements.
  • Transport hazardous and non-hazardous materials between customer sites and company facilities.
  • Operate tankers, roll-off trucks, and box-style straight-body trucks.
  • Perform pre-trip and post-trip inspections of vehicles and equipment.
  • Utilize electronic logging devices and company-issued technology to manage daily work activities.
  • Follow assigned routes and schedules while maintaining a high level of customer service.

Additional Responsibilities

  • Complete required transportation documentation, including manifests, bills of lading, delivery receipts, inspection reports, and logs.
  • Ensure proper placarding and compliance with hazardous material transportation regulations.
  • Assist with loading and unloading activities as required.
  • Move and handle drums and other containers when necessary.
  • Operate material handling equipment, including electric pallet jacks.
  • Communicate effectively with dispatch, customers, and operations personnel regarding deliveries, schedules, and service needs.
  • Maintain a strong commitment to safety for employees, customers, and the public.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned.

Required Qualifications

  • Must be at least 21 years of age.
  • Valid CDL Class A license required.
  • Tanker endorsement required.
  • Minimum 2 to 3 years of commercial driving experience.
  • Previous experience in environmental services, waste, wastewater, chemical hauling, or a related industry strongly preferred.
  • Experience using electronic logging devices.
  • Ability to operate manual transmission vehicles.
  • Acceptable driving record and ability to meet DOT requirements.

Schedule and Route Information

  • Typical start times between 5:00 AM and 6:00 AM, depending on route assignments.
  • Home most days with occasional overnight travel.
  • Typical overnight travel may consist of 1 to 2 nights per week.
  • Primary operating area includes Kentucky and regional routes throughout the surrounding territory.

Equipment

  • Manual transmission fleet.
  • Tankers, roll-off trucks, and box-style straight-body trucks.
  • Company-issued tablet and electronic logging system.

Physical Requirements

  • Ability to lift, carry, push, and pull up to 50 pounds.
  • Ability to move drums and containers as needed.
  • Ability to operate material handling equipment.
  • Ability to sit, stand, walk, climb, bend, and reach throughout the workday.
  • Ability to work outdoors in varying weather conditions.
  • Ability to safely perform duties in industrial and environmental services settings.
