As an Activity Based Driver, you'll drive, perform preventive maintenance, and be responsible for the content, condition, and security of cargo. Key responsibilities include transportation operations, maintaining equipment, and ensuring the proper handling of refrigerated commodities. You will also be responsible for unloading trailers and adhering to accountability methods for receiving products. You must maintain a status as a qualified driver in compliance with Federal Motor Carrier Safety Regulations (FMCSR) and perform delivery driver duties.
Qualifications include being 21 years or older, having home daily for two years and 100,000 miles of driving experience, and possessing a good driving record with no DWI/DUI or felony convictions. Knowledge of English, proficiency in DOT, local, state, and federal laws, and the ability to manage multiple priorities are also required. A high school diploma or equivalent, FMCSA-qualified driver status, and successful passing of DOT physical, drug screen, background check, and verification of work history are necessary. You will need to pass a Department of Transportation physical and drug screen, and meet all DOT driver qualifications.
