Position Summary

The Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant (COTA) works under the direction and supervision of a licensed Occupational Therapist to implement individualized treatment plans designed to help residents achieve their highest level of independence and quality of life.

Essential Responsibilities

  • Provide occupational therapy treatments as outlined in the resident's plan of care.
  • Document resident progress and treatment outcomes accurately and timely.
  • Communicate resident status and therapy updates with the interdisciplinary team.
  • Assist residents in improving functional mobility, activities of daily living (ADLs), and adaptive skills.
  • Monitor and report changes in resident condition.
  • Maintain compliance with federal, state, and facility regulations.
  • Participate in care planning meetings and therapy team discussions.
  • Ensure resident safety and dignity during all therapy sessions.

Qualifications

  • Current Colorado Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant (COTA) license in good standing.
  • Previous experience in a skilled nursing facility or rehabilitation setting preferred.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work effectively as part of a multidisciplinary team.
  • Passion for improving the lives of seniors and rehabilitation patients.
