Avera Health, a regional health system based in Sioux Falls, SD, is seeking a compassionate and highly skilled Certified Registered Nurse Anesthetist (CRNA) to join our Healthcare & Medical Services team. In this role, you will deliver anesthesia services for a variety of surgical, obstetric, diagnostic, and therapeutic procedures, working closely with anesthesiologists, surgeons, and other interdisciplinary team members. You will conduct comprehensive pre-anesthesia assessments, review patient histories, evaluate risk factors, and develop individualized anesthesia care plans. During procedures, you will administer general, regional, or monitored anesthesia, manage airways, monitor vital signs, adjust medications and fluids, and respond promptly to changes in patient status to ensure optimal safety and comfort.
You will be responsible for selecting and administering anesthetic agents and adjuvant medications, performing regional anesthesia techniques such as spinals, epidurals, and peripheral nerve blocks when appropriate, and utilizing advanced monitoring equipment to guide your clinical decisions. Postoperatively, you will oversee emergence from anesthesia, provide pain and symptom management, and coordinate a thorough handoff to PACU, ICU, or inpatient teams. Throughout the perioperative continuum, you will document assessments, interventions, and outcomes accurately within the electronic medical record and adhere to all regulatory, accreditation, and professional standards of CRNA practice.
