Finatal is partnering with a private equity-backed industrial services platform on the appointment of a Chief Financial Officer.
The company generates approximately $150 million of revenue and ~$20 million of EBITDA and operates through a portfolio of businesses providing infrastructure, field services, and specialty contracting solutions across multiple regions in North America.
The business is entering a critical phase focused on performance improvement, cash flow optimization, organizational effectiveness, and long-term value creation. With an anticipated exit over the next two to three years, the company is seeking a hands-on CFO to partner closely with the CEO and Board to drive financial transformation and position the business for a successful transaction.
This opportunity is ideally suited to an experienced private equity-backed CFO who thrives in turnaround environments and enjoys balancing strategic leadership with operational execution. The successful candidate will lead efforts to strengthen financial planning and analysis, improve cash conversion, optimize working capital, enhance reporting capabilities, manage lender relationships, and build a finance organization capable of supporting the next phase of value creation.
Key Responsibilities
- Partner closely with the CEO and Board to execute the company's turnaround strategy and support enterprise value creation initiatives.
- Lead all budgeting, forecasting, FP&A, and long-range planning activities, improving visibility into financial and operational performance.
- Drive working capital improvements with a focus on collections, cash conversion, liquidity management, and forecasting accuracy.
- Manage lender relationships, debt facilities, covenant compliance, and banking partnerships.
- Strengthen financial reporting, accounting processes, internal controls, and management information across a multi-entity organization.
- Partner closely with operating leaders to improve accountability, financial discipline, and decision-making across the business.
- Assess, develop, and optimize the finance organization, including succession planning and team restructuring where appropriate.
- Provide timely and insightful reporting to investors, lenders, and Board stakeholders.
- Identify and execute initiatives focused on profitability enhancement, cost optimization, and operational improvement.
- Help prepare the business for an anticipated exit by enhancing financial infrastructure, reporting quality, and overall transaction readiness.
Qualifications
- Proven CFO experience within a private equity-backed middle-market company
- Demonstrated success leading turnaround, transformation, restructuring, or performance improvement initiatives.
- Strong experience managing cash flow, working capital, liquidity, and collections within operationally intensive businesses.
- Deep lender management experience, including debt facilities, covenant reporting, capital structure optimization, and banking relationships.
- Strong FP&A capabilities and experience building forecasting and decision-support processes.
- Track record of building, developing, and leading finance teams through periods of change.
- Experience within industrial services, specialty contracting, field services, infrastructure, manufacturing, distribution, or other operationally complex environments preferred.
- Strong accounting foundation combined with commercial acumen and operational business partnering capabilities.
- Comfortable operating in a hands-on environment with evolving processes and limited excess resources.
- Strong executive presence and ability to engage credibly with investors, lenders, Boards, and management teams.
