Civil Engineer/Sr Civil Engineer

Location: Fully Remote - Candidates must reside in South Carolina, North Carolina, or Georgia

Employment Type: Full-Time

Experience Level: Mid-Level (5+ years) PE (Professional Engineer) Certification Required


About the Company

Our client is an established, award‑winning, full‑service consulting and engineering firm with a footprint throughout the Southeastern United States. Its services include civil/site design, water and water resources engineering, roadway and hydraulic design, project and program management, and public involvement.


They are seeking a Land Development Engineer with a site-civil background and at least five years of relevant experience. Opportunities range from PE-level project engineers to more senior professionals with demonstrated technical and leadership capability. The ideal candidate will bring strong AutoCAD Civil 3D experience and a practical understanding of land-development design, permitting, and project delivery.


Required Qualifications

  • Must have an Active Professional Engineer (PE) license
  • Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering (or closely related field)
  • 5+ years of hands-on post-graduate land-development or site-civil design experience
  • Proficiency in AutoCAD Civil 3D
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills
  • Experience with stormwater design and hydrologic/hydraulic analysis; familiarity with tools such as HydroCAD or HEC-RAS is preferred
  • Familiarity with common permitting workflows; GIS experience is a plus
  • Exposure to project coordination or mentorship roles



Key Responsibilities


Concept & Feasibility

  • Conduct site feasibility analyses (grading, drainage, access)
  • Prepare conceptual layouts and preliminary cost estimates


Design & Engineering

  • Develop detailed Civil 3D models and construction‑ready drawings (grading, drainage, utilities, erosion control)
  • Perform hydrologic/hydraulic calculations per applicable regulations
  • Lead QA/QC reviews to ensure accuracy and compliance


Coordination & Permitting

  • Collaborate with internal disciplines and external agencies to resolve design/interface issues
  • Support permit application submittals and follow through to approval

Construction Support

  • Respond to RFI’s, issue addenda, and provide site‑visit support during construction phases
