divh2Paraprofessional-Inclusion/Resource/Self-Contained/h2pPerforms the following tasks in classrooms to assist teaching staff of elementary or secondary schools by performing the following duties:/ppWorks with students with disabilities in all educational settings individually and/or groups to provide instructional support./ppImplements the instructional plan as developed with the classroom teacher as it pertains to the core curriculum. Monitors and adjusts the instructional plan based on student needs. Conveys knowledge that is accurate and current./ppImplements strategies and accommodations as developed with the classroom teacher as it pertains to the students Individual Education Program, Emergency Health Plans monitoring student safety in various educational settings./ppMaintain a log/schedule providing support to students with disabilities within the inclusive, resource and self-contained classrooms./ppAssists in the routine supervision of study areas, cafeterias, halls, playground, instructional field trips and bus loading areas when applicable for students with disabilities./ppPerforms non-complex health procedures, implements Individual Health Plans as applicable, attends necessary non-complex health training as prescribed by board policy and state law. Lifting and positioning of students as applicable./ppImplements strategies that reinforce positive student behavior. Works closely with the classroom teacher to implement positive behavior supports and Behavior Plans as applicable. Positively interact when the student is inappropriate to redirect to attention on task. Handle with Care training required as applicable./ppAssists students in using computer applications and related assistive technology./ppMaintains confidentially of student information and progress as it relates to the Family Educational Rights and Privacy Act./ppPerforms other related duties as required or assigned as it relates to supporting students with disabilities and teachers/administrative staff./ppTo perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactory. Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions./ppEducation and/or Experience/ppMust have earned a high school diploma or its equivalent and must meet one of the additional requirements below:/pulliPass the teacher/paraprofessional assessment test with a score of 450 or higher/liliAssociate degree or higher (official transcripts are required)/lili48 hours of college with six hours of Math and nine hours of English (official transcripts are required)./li/ulpLanguage Skills/ppAbility to read and interpret documents such as safety rules and procedure manuals. Ability to write routine reports and correspondence. Ability to speak effectively before groups of students and parents. Ability to effectively present information in one-on-one and small group situations to students./ppPhysical Demands/ppWhile performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to stand and speak. The employee is required to walk, sit, reach with hands and arms, stoop, kneel and crouch.
