The Clinical Nurse Coordinator provides expert clinical oversight for patients with complex renal and metabolic conditions, including those with chronic kidney disease, acute kidney injury, electrolyte and metabolic disorders, and related comorbidities. This nurse coordinates patient assessments, develops and updates individualized care plans, administers medications and treatments, and closely monitors patient responses, collaborating with nephrologists, hospitalists, dietitians, pharmacists, and other members of the interdisciplinary team to ensure safe, evidence-based care. In alignment with HCA Healthcare’s culture of compassion, teamwork, and learning, the Clinical Nurse Coordinator serves as a clinical resource and role model for bedside nurses and support staff, precepting new team members, providing real-time coaching, and supporting continuous professional growth. This position actively participates in unit-based and hospital-wide quality and safety initiatives, using clinical data and best-practice guidelines to improve outcomes for nephrology and metabolic patients. The Clinical Nurse Coordinator assists with auditing documentation, monitoring compliance with policies, supporting accreditation standards, and implementing process improvements to reduce complications, readmissions, and length of stay. The nurse contributes to staffing coordination, workflow optimization, and effective communication during shift handoffs and multidisciplinary rounds.
