The CNC Turn/Lathe Operator reports to the Shift Supervisor and is responsible for adhering to all policies and procedures related to the various parts and equipment they are trained and certified to operate. Operators are also tasked with loading and unloading parts to meet production demands, inspecting parts with different precision measuring tools, accepting or rejecting parts based on quality, and communicating any changes verbally and in writing.

Essential Tasks:
Operate regular (horizontal) or VTL (vertical) lathe machines
Analyze and interpret Op sheets, blueprints, mechanical drawings, and travelers to produce products that meet or exceed customer specifications
Verifies conformance of finished workpiece to customer specifications, using precision measuring tools and equipment as necessary (micrometers, calipers, gauges [pin, thread, indicator, height], optical comparators, and coordinate measuring machines [CMM]
Maintain working knowledge of CNC principles, including G and M codes
Maintain working knowledge of rotary/linear axes
Selects, aligns, and secures fixtures, tooling, and workpieces on machines as necessary to machine parts as required
Analyze and interpret CMM reports and properly offset machine dimensions to meet customer specifications
Perform deburring operations to within specified tolerances
Document actions by updating control charts, travelers, and reporting labor in the ERP system
Perform under AS9100 quality standards and NADCAP accreditation
Maintain a safe and clean work environment by performing daily housekeeping duties

Education and Experience:
High school diploma or GED required
CNC Machining certificate from a Trade School or acceptable work experience in lieu of schooling
Must meet the ITAR definition of 120.15 U.S. person
Lathe, Shaft, or turning experience required - Min 5 yrs
Experience in an industrial/manufacturing environment, aerospace industry strongly preferred
Experience with G & M codes preferred

Physical Demand Levels:
Lift, push, and/or pull up to thirty-five pounds regularly
Operate overhead crane or other lifting equipment when necessary
Stand at least 95% of the scheduled shift
Walking or climbing stairs as needed to perform job duties as assigned
Routinely perform reaching, twisting, bending, and grasping to move and set tools, equipment, and materials
Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, color perception, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus. 20/20 vision (natural or corrected) required with the ability to pass annual vision test as required

Shift: Mon-Fri, 7:00am-3:30pm
Pay: $25-30+/hour, based on experience
