CNC Machine Operator-- 2nd Shift
Metals USA has an opening for a CNC Machine Operator - 2nd Shift in their Muskogee, OK location. The CNC Machine Operator -- 2nd Shift performs advanced production activities requiring a demonstrated high level of skill and proficiency in material handling, production processes and multiple machine operation acquired through extended experience and training.
Hourly Rate: $19 per hour and $3 shift differential

The CNC Machine Operator -- 2nd Shift performs advanced production activities requiring a demonstrated high level of skill and proficiency in material handling, production processes and multiple machine operation acquired through extended experience and training.

Duties/Responsibilities:
- Positions work pieces for processing
- Operates a combination of different machines to process work by cutting, burning, sawing, blasting, shearing, punching, grinding, bending, or pressing.
- Uses gauges, calipers, squares, or rulers for measurement.
- Determines processing specifications such as materials, cutting tools, location of cutting lines, dimensions, tolerances, and operational sequences by reviewing blueprints, work orders, tooling instructions or other written specifications.
- Installs and aligns specified punches, cutting blades or other fixtures in machine bed using gauges, templates, feelers, shims, or hand tools.
- Adjusts controls to set cutting speed, depth, and feed rates; and diagnoses problems and makes necessary adjustments.
- Performs quality control inspections on finished product; for ISO-certified locations, performs In Process Quality Inspections
- Coordinates and executes material handling of all inventories to be processed including operation of overhead crane.
- Performs limited preventative maintenance, such as lubrication, cleaning and changing of parts.
- May train less experienced workers and perform as lead in absence of group leader.
- May mark identification on material/work pieces before processing.
- May mark material after processing; store material for additional processing and/or shipping.
- Restocks material.
- Completes work order paperwork/documentation.

- High School diploma or GED
- Reading and writing comprehension in English (to read work order instructions, safety and policy manuals)
- Measuring skills to read English & Metric systems and a tape measure, caliper, gauges or micrometer.
- Experience operating an overhead crane / forklift operator preferred
- Must be organized with attention to detail.
- Candidate must be able to pass a pre-employment drug screen.
Physical Demands:

- Stand, walk, sit, handling/fingering, reach outward, reach above shoulder, climb, squat or kneel or bend
- Lift, carry, push and/or pull 51 -- 100 lbs. with assistance
- Must wear the proper personal protective equipment (PPE)
- Steel-toed boots or metatarsal boots
- Hard hats with chin strap; chin strap must be worn at all times while in the warehouse
- Protective eyewear
- Hand protection
- Arm guards/sleeves
- Hearing protection if required by the hearing conservation program
