Our client, a design and builder of control systems for utility vehicles, is seeking a Commodity Manager to join their team. As a Commodity Manager, you will be part of the Operations Team supporting Manufacturing. The ideal candidate will have strong experience understanding PCBA assemblies, component lifecycle management, and electronics market trends, intermediate to advanced cost analysis skills and familiarity with supply-chain risk management, including lead-time variability and part obsolescence. This position will not support candidates with visa requirements and will not be supported by relocation assistance. Candidates local to the Milwaukee, WI area will be given the highest consideration. This is a direct hire role with an option of contract to direct hire status. Location: NW Milwaukee metro area Pay: $55-$65/hr. plus benefits.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and execute commodity strategies to support cost, quality, and delivery targets.
- Manage sourcing decisions, cost negotiations, and supplier performance for assigned categories.
- Drive continuous improvement in pricing, lead times, and supply assurance.
- Partner with engineering on new product development (NPD) for component and assembly sourcing.
- Identify alternate sources for critical or obsolete electronic components.
- Support make/buy decisions and cost-modeling for electronics assemblies.
Requirements
- 7-10 years of related experience
- Strong understanding of PCBA assemblies, component lifecycle management, and electronics market trends.
- Intermediate to advanced cost analysis skills (should-cost modeling, TCO analysis).
- Familiarity with supply-chain risk management, including lead-time variability and part obsolescence.
- Effective negotiation and contract management capabilities.
