About the opportunity:
Remote -Contract role
- Community Builder role
- The Community team works on expanding internationally, managing moderator populations, working with different countries, and helping expand the community.
- The position will have two main areas of responsibility:
- Application review: reviewing applications before they go live. The team uses AI to assist with this process, and the support team can download the code to check whether any changes are needed. The person will be responsible for approving applications and needs to be able to make good decisions during the review process.
- Support: some developers need help submitting their applications. The agent will use Zendesk to monitor incoming support requests and provide technical assistance, troubleshooting the issues that come in. When necessary, they can ask a peer for help or escalate the issue to an Engineer.
- HTML, CSS, and JavaScript: some level of knowledge of these technologies will be needed, especially for the review side. There is an initial review as well as reviews of new versions, so the person should be able to understand the changes made to the code and, at least, understand how to review and troubleshoot them.
- APIs were also mentioned as part of the technical knowledge.
- Experience with app review and Zendesk would be a plus.
- A Community or Gaming Developer background would also be a plus.
- Not a Developer role: the person will not be creating applications. The focus is on supporting applications and stakeholders, for example, providing support when a game is not working.
- Process improvement is less of a requirement. The person can look for ways to improve processes, but this is not mandatory.
- Communication: strong written and verbal communication skills are important due to the amount of interaction with different stakeholders. The manager mentioned that they have had issues with contractors who were not proactive in their communication.
- Operational volume: currently, there are around 200 items in the queue on Monday, with the expectation of reducing this to at least 50 by Friday. They also receive around 400 emails through Zendesk, approximately 15 per day. The team is starting to prioritize these requests to clear them as quickly as possible, which is why they are looking for someone to join the team.
