Job Summary: We are seeking an experienced Construction Manager to support a major capital construction project at a leading metals manufacturing facility in Muscle Shoals, Alabama. The project is a large-scale industrial installation with a project budget of approximately $50 million. The Construction Manager will oversee construction activities, coordinate contractors and vendors, and help lead the project through installation, completion, commissioning, and start-up. The ideal candidate will have a strong background managing large-scale metals industry construction projects, preferably involving major equipment installation within aluminum, steel, or other heavy industrial manufacturing environments.

Key Responsibilities

  • Manage and oversee day-to-day construction activities for a major industrial project.
  • Coordinate contractors, subcontractors, vendors, and project stakeholders.
  • Monitor construction progress and ensure activities remain aligned with project schedules and milestones.
  • Work closely with project management, engineering, scheduling, and operations teams.
  • Identify and resolve construction issues, schedule delays, and project risks.
  • Ensure construction activities are completed safely, efficiently, and according to project specifications.
  • Monitor quality and workmanship throughout the project.
  • Participate in project meetings and provide regular updates to project leadership.
  • Support equipment installation, construction completion, commissioning, and start-up activities.
  • Help drive the project toward its targeted May 2027 start-up.

Required Qualifications

  • Significant experience as a Construction Manager on large-scale industrial construction projects.
  • Experience managing large metals industry projects.
  • Experience with projects involving major equipment installation and complex construction activities.
  • Strong understanding of industrial construction processes and project execution.
  • Experience coordinating multiple contractors, vendors, and project disciplines.
  • Strong leadership, communication, organizational, and problem-solving skills.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience in aluminum, steel, or other heavy metals manufacturing environments.
  • Experience managing $50M+ capital projects.
  • Experience with caster, furnace, melter, holder, or other metals processing equipment.
  • Experience taking major industrial projects from construction through commissioning and start-up.

Project Details: The client is looking to move quickly, with the ideal candidate starting within the next 23 weeks. The assignment is expected to continue through at least May 2027, which is the current target for project start-up.
