Construction Materials Testing Technician

Job Requirements:

Education: High School Diploma.

Work may only be performed on site. No remote work option.

Job Tasks:

• Perform routine field soil density testing using company-provided equipment after receiving internal training.


• Collect soil and concrete samples from construction sites for laboratory or field testing.


• Conduct basic materials testing procedures following ASTM standards and established company protocols.


• Accurately record and document test results using standard company forms and reporting systems.


• Submit collected data and completed reports to supervising technicians, engineers, or project supervisors for review and verification.


• Notify supervisors when testing equipment requires maintenance, repair.


• Verify that all testing equipment has current calibration sticker or certification before use.


• Maintain, clean, and transport testing equipment and materials required for field testing activities.


• Follow established safety procedures and company policies while performing field and laboratory work.


• Work under direct supervision while receiving ongoing on-the-job training in materials testing procedures.


• Inspect materials and collected samples for visible defects or inconsistencies before performing tests.
