What You'll Do

As a valued member of our Cardiothoracic Surgery team, you will:

• Provide comprehensive care for critically ill post-operative cardiac surgery patients, including those recovering from CABG, valve replacement, and other complex cardiothoracic procedures.

• Perform detailed medical histories, physical examinations, daily assessments, and ongoing patient management.

• Develop, implement, and adjust treatment plans based on patient condition and clinical findings.

• Order, interpret, and act upon laboratory, diagnostic, and radiology results.

• Perform a variety of medical procedures within scope of practice.

• Prescribe and manage medications and therapies.

• Document patient encounters and clinical decision-making accurately and efficiently within the medical record.

• Serve as a strong patient advocate and collaborate closely with physicians, nursing staff, and ancillary services.

• Participate in quality initiatives, practice development, and departmental meetings.

• Support STS database collection and quality reporting efforts.

• Provide continuity of care through one dedicated clinic day per week with an assigned cardiothoracic surgeon.

• Participate in a shared call rotation, including weeknight and weekend coverage (typically Q3-Q4).

Qualifications

Required

• Master's Degree in Nursing or Doctor of Nursing Practice (DNP).

• Current Registered Nurse license.

• Licensed or eligible for licensure as a Nurse Practitioner in the applicable state.

• DEA license or eligibility to obtain.

• Eligibility for prescriptive authority through the applicable Board of Nursing or Medical Board.

• Current BLS certification through the American Heart Association with expiration greater than 90 days from
