About the Clinician's Workday
The preferred schedule is 5x8s, though 4x10s will be considered, and providers interested in 5x10s are encouraged to inquire. This is an independent practice model, and the facility is open to a two-provider rotation consisting of two weeks on, two weeks off, with weekend call coverage between onsite rotations. Call is primarily based in Clare with no OB call requirements and a one-hour response time. The call schedule is approximately 1:3, including 1-2 holiday call assignments annually. Weeknight call extends until 11:00 PM and is historically rarely utilized after that time. Weekend call runs from 7:00 AM to 11:00 PM, with minimal utilization after 11:00 PM. Cases include a broad range of bread-and-butter anesthesia procedures, scopes, laparoscopic abdominal surgeries, cataracts, podiatry, orthopedics, vascular procedures, cardiology cases including TEEs and cardioversions, as well as inpatient ward and emergency department support for airway and IV access needs. Providers should be comfortable with general anesthesia, MAC, and regional anesthesia; block experience is preferred but not required, as refresher training is available. GI procedures are performed exclusively at the Gladwin location. The patient mix is approximately 80-90% outpatient and 10-20% inpatient.
