Deputy Director

The Deputy Director supports and acts in the best interest of the Director in furthering and accomplishing the strategic goals of the Department and Office of Contracting and Procurement (OCP).

Evaluates broad contracting policy, process, and systems recommendations presented by operating officials within OCP and/or the mission areas and identifies options based upon detailed knowledge of OCP's goals and objectives.

Designs and maintains the Department's acquisition governance framework, determining program goals, and ensuring that internal control systems, acquisition strategies, and performance measures align with enterprise-level objectives.

Works with OCP Divisions to issue policy, procedural guidelines, and systems changes to increase effectiveness and uniformity in the management and administration of USDA procurement programs, and to comply with government-wide requirements.

Leads major change management and implementation efforts related to Statutory mandates, Departmental priorities, Executive Orders, Office of Management and Budget (OMB) directives, and other sources.
