Inspects products such as glass, refrigerator door and frame at various stages in manufacturing, checks product visually for imperfections based on Anthony requirements and checks product by measuring and testing methods to ensure it meets specifications and drawing requirements. Examines the product by performing the following duties.
Essential duties and responsibilities include:
- Visually examines and feels the surface of products to detect defects such as mismatched veneer, dents, splits, blemishes, loose and uneven joints, holes and faulty finish etc.
- Verifies conformance of products to dimensional specifications, reports anomalies in the product and assist with determining the root causes of deficiencies.
- Records quantity inspected and the acceptable conditions of the product on an inspection report.
- Uses tools such as calibers, micrometers, hardness tester, comparator, surface plate, height gauge, thermal image meter, torque gauges, ohmmeters, etc.
- May be required to drive a forklift.
- Participate in 6S duties to maintain work areas in safe and organized manner.
- Applies basic math, reads and comprehends tables, drawings, specifications and schedules.

- High School diploma and one year tech school or two years of experience related inspection field.
- Must have solid computer skills including use of Office, Word, Outlook, PowerPoint. Experience in creating and maintaining spreadsheets for inspection purposes.
Physical demands include:
- While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to stand; walk; use hands to finger, handle, or feel; reach with hands and arms; and talk or hear.
- The employee is occasionally required to sit, stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl.
- The employee must frequently lift and/or move up to 50 pounds.
Work environment includes:
- Must be able to work in an office environment as well as a manufacturing/production shop environment as job duties require.
- May be exposed to loud operating machinery and cold temperatures.
- Use proper PPE as required per company policy.
Supervisory responsibilities include:
- Cross training of team members and processes and assist with production as needed.
Education, experience, and other requirements include:
- High school, GED or equivalent schooling relating to mechanical / manufacturing or other related field of training.
- 6 months to 1 year of inspection experience in similar field.
- ASQC certification a plus.
- PC proficiency is essential, Strong experience with Microsoft office products.
- Ability to use MS Excel to analyze data and present in a meaningful manner.
- Ability to measure / work with fractions and decimals and make conversions as required.
- Good general shop math required.
Analytical or reasoning abilities include:
- Effective leadership, administration, analytical and communication skills (written and oral).
- Excellent grasp of English language and ability to respond to email requests in a professional manner.
- Organizational and time management skills required.
- Ability to handle multiple assignments simultaneously in a fast-paced and complex environment.
- Team oriented individual who is flexible and adaptable to an ever-changing environment.
- Ability to plan and organize and to set priorities in order to meet deadlines and ensure customer satisfaction.
