Summary


Finish a wide variety of printing products in accordance with detailed order specifications, producing excellent quality of bindery work.


 


Education And Experience 


Required: 



  • High school diploma or equivalency.


Preferred:



  • Completion of an accredited printing or print production training program, or equivalent on-the-job experience in printing operations.

  • Experience as a bindery/printing press operator.


 


Essential Duties and Responsibilities:



  • Operating bindery equipment used in finishing printed materials.
    (Dupo DC-745 slitter/cutter/creaser and the Horizon creaser/stitch/folder/trimmer)

  • Folding, collating, stitching, padding, drilling, perforating, laminating, and trimming printed products.

  • Setting up and adjusting bindery machinery.

  • Inspecting finished work for quality and accuracy.

  • Packaging and preparing printed materials for delivery and shipping.

  • Operate equipment safely and in accordance with operating guidelines.

  • Produce high quality orders accurately and efficiently.

  • Review job tickets for accuracy prior to production and ensure all documentation is complete and accurate upon job completion.



  • Care and routine handling of paper, inspecting, piling and jogging.

  • Perform and document routine maintenance activities on a daily, weekly, monthly and annual basis to ensure optimal equipment performance.

  • Properly store and organize knives, guides, and other bindery equipment and tools to ensure safety and efficiency.

  • Maintain accurate logs of materials used and notify manager when inventory levels are low.

  • Operate forklifts and pallet jacks to safely move and transport large quantities of paper and finished products.



  • On site installation of Oversize/Signage.

  • Delivery of print jobs to local customers.


 


Salary and Benefits


$39,628.81- $44,673.13



  • The state provides a benefit allowance to help you pay for insurance premiums which include health, dental, life and disability insurance.

  • The amount of your allowance, $9,051.60-$21,942.34, is determined based upon the dependents you choose to include in health coverage.

Total salary and benefits package valued at $53,337.42 - $71,652.54.

Accurately read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating instructions, and manuals; prepare routine reports and correspondence; and clearly communicate ideas and concepts to other employees.

Ability to calculate simple mathematical equations as applicable.  (For example: add, subtract, multiply and divide)


 


Reasoning Skills


Capable of dealing with a variety of abstract and concrete variables.   


 


Licenses, Certificates, Registrations


Requires valid drivers license.
Must pass and maintain Forklift certification.


 


Physical Demands


Ability to lift 100 pounds with or without reasonable accommodation.  


 


Work Environment


Position based in Stillwater, OK. Exposure to manufacturing conditions, including loud noises, airborne particles and moving mechanical equipment and parts.
