Directs the department's activities and resources to achieve departmental and organizational objectives. Essential functions include developing and implementing departmental goals, directing and evaluating departmental operations, planning and monitoring staffing activities, preparing and evaluating departmental budgets, coordinating and directing internal/external audits, creating an environment that encourages professional growth, integrating evidence-based practices into operations and clinical protocols, and ensuring regular and reliable attendance. Position serves both internal co-workers and external customers, clients, patients, contractors, and vendors. Access to and/or works with sensitive and/or confidential information. Exhibit a comprehensive understanding of healthcare regulatory and compliance (e.g., HIPAA). Skilled in the application of policies and procedures. Knowledge of Business Office Standards and Recommended Practices.
Supervisory responsibilities include managing the work of others, including planning, assigning, scheduling and reviewing work, ensuring quality standards, responsible for hiring, terminating, training and developing, reviewing performance and administering corrective action for staff.
Qualifications and requirements include a Bachelor's Degree in Nursing required, Master Degree preferred, BLS, and an active Tennessee or compact state Registered Nursing license.
Skills and abilities include business mathematical skills, moderate computer skills, complex communication, varied business problems, functional independent judgment, project planning/organization, and physical and mental demands.

Noise level in the work environment is typical for an office and/or hospital environment. Minimum overnight travel (up to 10%) by land and/or air.
