Description: The Executive Director of Emergency Services, Nursing Operations leads the provision of care to patient populations. Guided by the organization's vision, mission, and roadmap, the Executive Director is responsible for the overall effective operation regarding care delivery, quality and safety outcomes, employee engagement, patient experience, regulatory compliance, and fiscal management. The Executive Director uses research and outcomes data to support the design, development, and implementation of processes and programs that improve patient care and stimulate departmental and organizational growth. This role requires collaboration with other service lines, rural providers, and community leaders to maximize care coordination. The Executive Director creates and maintains a culture of trust that fosters teamwork and the continual pursuit of excellence in the provision of care. Key responsibilities include managing administrative functions, developing budgets, and using financial resources effectively. The Executive Director serves as the administrative leader and liaison with all service line physicians and activities. Resource acquisition and allocation for the service line are also key responsibilities. The role includes oversight of clinical services, staffing plans, evaluation of patient care, and process improvement. Leaders of individual departments will be supported and developed. Mentoring new and existing leaders promotes successful succession planning. Care delivery must be aligned and standardized across campuses while honoring the differences in patient needs. Collaboration with leadership of other service lines is essential for enhancing patient flow and care coordination. The Executive Director ensures compliance with specialty designation guidelines. Current evidence and outcomes data will be evaluated to influence operational processes and systems. A culture of safety is prioritized, ensuring patient and workplace safety is maintained. The Executive Director demonstrates knowledge of reimbursement systems when evaluating the efficiency of patient visits. Innovation in care delivery and coordination is expected in this role. In an emergency situation, the Executive Director may be assigned specific missions to assist in disaster response and recovery. Critical situations may require handling multiple tasks until additional support can be obtained.
