Job Summary:

Galveston College is a public community college with a credit enrollment of approximately 2,400 students, located on historic Galveston Island, located along the Gulf Coast of Texas.

Qualifications:

• A master's degree in nursing from a regionally accredited college or university includes coursework in nursing practice, education, or administration.
• Must have a current, unencumbered, valid license to practice as a Registered Nurse in Texas and meet the Texas Board of Nursing approval standards for program director.
• Minimum of 8 years of experience in the field of nursing experience providing direct patient care as a registered nurse in a health care setting.
• A minimum of five years of experience teaching nursing in an associate degree nursing program or any equivalent combination of education and experience.
• A minimum of one (1) year of experience as a nurse administrator performing the manager role responsibilities consistent with a qualified administrator role in a clinical or educational setting.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Experience working with a community college nursing program.
• Experience with the Texas Board of Nursing and Accrediting Commission for Education in Nursing accreditation processes.
• Terminal degree in Nursing, Health Sciences, or Education
