Director Of Tax Operations

At Regeneron, we use science and innovation to develop life-changing medicines for people with serious diseases. We are seeking a Director of Tax Operations to own the day-to-day management of the company's global tax reporting and compliance functions for the US. Reporting to the Head of Tax Operations, the Director runs the operational execution of tax accounting, U.S. compliance, indirect taxes, SOX controls, audits, and the systems and data that support them. In this role you will modernize the tax operating model embedding artificial intelligence, automation, and analytics into everyday tax work while maintaining rigorous controls and human review. The Director coordinates with Tax Strategy counterparts on planning, technical positions, and shared or cross-functional work, and manages the U.S. and Ireland operations as a single, well-run team.

This position is full-time and will sit in our Sleepy Hollow, NY office four days per week.

Discovery Your Role:

  • Manage ASC 740 tax accounting including provisions, reconciliations, financial statement disclosures, and external audit coordination
  • Ensure SOX-compliant internal controls over tax reporting processes, including AI and automation-enabled workflows
  • Oversee all U.S. federal, state, and international tax compliance, filings, payments, and audit-ready documentation
  • Manage tax credits (R&D, orphan drug), indirect taxes (sales/use, property, excise), and tax audits/examinations
  • Monitor and implement regulatory changes including OECD Pillar Two, U.S. CAMT, and international statutory requirements
  • Lead tax operations AI strategy by identifying use cases, piloting solutions, and establishing responsible-use guardrails
  • Own tax technology platforms, analytics tools, and data initiatives while driving process transformation and team upskilling
  • Partner with Tax Strategy and cross-functional stakeholders while leading and developing the Tax Operations team

This Role Requires:

  • Bachelor's Degree in Tax, Accounting, Finance, or a related field plus at least 10 years of progressive corporate tax experience (or equivalent combination of education and professional experience) working for or with publicly traded, multinational companies; a combination of Big 4 and in-house experience is strongly preferred.
  • Deep expertise in ASC 740, including provisions, uncertain tax positions, financial statement disclosures, and strong U.S. federal and state income tax experience, with exposure to indirect taxes.
  • Life sciences or biopharmaceutical industry experience nice to have.
  • International and statutory reporting experience (FRS 102, IFRS); Ireland experience a plus nice to have.
  • Familiarity with the OECD global minimum tax (Pillar Two) and the U.S. corporate alternative minimum tax (CAMT) nice to have.
  • Experience leading tax technology, automation, or data-analytics initiatives nice to have.
