CLINICAL FACULTY POSITION IN PULMONARY AND CRITICAL CARE MEDICINE, UNIVERSITY OF CALIFORNIA, SAN FRANCISCO

The UCSF Health Division of Pulmonary, Critical Care, Allergy and Sleep Medicine, within the Department of Medicine, is seeking clinical faculty to join our division in providing exceptional care across the inpatient and outpatient settings. The candidate must have completed (or in process of completing) fellowship training in Pulmonary and Critical Care Medicine, must be (or in process of becoming) board certified or board eligible in pulmonary and/or critical care medicine, and must meet the requirements for appointment at the rank of Assistant, Associate, or Full Professor at UCSF. Applicants must meet all required qualifications by time of hire.

The clinical footprint of our Pulmonary and Critical Care Division has grown significantly over the last few years with:

  • More daytime and nighttime ICU services at Parnassus, where we transitioned to a "closed" model of medical intensive care

  • Two new affiliate campuses: UCSF Stanyan (formerly Saint Mary's) and UCSF Hyde (formerly Saint Francis). UCSF Stanyan has a mixed med-surg ICU and inpatient pulmonary consult service. UCSF Hyde has a smaller mixed med-surg ICU as well as the largest burn unit in San Francisco

  • A new inpatient consultation service specializing in interventional pulmonology (at Parnassus)

  • Expanded outpatient clinics and sites, across San Francisco and reaching into the East Bay and the Peninsula

Given our evolving clinical and operational needs as we anticipate further expansion, we are seeking outstanding clinicians with superior clinical and teaching skills. The exact position will vary with the qualifications, skills and interests of hired candidate(s), but could involve a range of inpatient and outpatient care, day or night, at one or multiple UCSF sites. Hired faculty will also have the opportunity to engage in teaching, administrative, and research opportunities across the school of medicine and graduate training programs.

All qualified applicants will receive consideration for employment without regard to race, color, religion, sex, sexual orientation, gender identity, national origin, disability, age, protected veteran status, or other protected status under state or federal law.
