Attendance Coordinator duties include helping students with issues that are interfering with learning specifically obstacles that impede regular attendance. This may be anything from difficulties in reading or math, emotional challenges, inappropriate behaviors, organization, etc. The Coordinator will schedule the SAT team meetings to discuss the problem and work together to find a solution that will help with the student's barrier to education. The team meets as often as needed and meetings are to be coordinated with the school administrators. The SAT Coordinator will work with all staff to identify intervention to improve attendance for identified students. They will coordinate services within the school as well as coordinate with outside agencies for student support and growth. The SAT Coordinator will work and meet with parents, CIS workers, social workers, teachers, administrators, as well as any other staff to support the student and provide interventions to positively impact student attendance. The SAT will work with and help to devise the school's Multi-Tiered System of Support using best practices and research-based methods to improve attendance and achievement. The SAT Coordinator will invite the parent to become part of the team. The team continues to work together to find solutions. For many students, the interventions put in place through this process are sufficient to support the student's learning needs.
Some Key Responsibilities:
- Prevention and Intervention: Developing and implementing programs to address substance abuse, mental health, and other student needs.
- Counseling and Support: Refer students to individual and group counseling and offer support for personal and academic challenges.
- Referral Services: Connecting students with appropriate resources, such as mental health professionals, social workers, CIS workers, substance abuse treatment centers, and other support services.
- Collaboration: Working closely with teachers, parents, administrators, and community agencies to create a supportive and coordinated system of care for students.
- Advocacy: Serving as an advocate for students, ensuring they have access to the resources and support they need to succeed.
- Data Collection and Reporting: Maintaining records, tracking student progress, and reporting on program effectiveness.
- Program Development: Developing and implementing new programs and initiatives to address student attendance and other needs, such as study skills programs or peer support groups.
Pay: 750.00 total for successful completion of year Extracurricular Position for the 2026-2027 Year
