An established manufacturing organization is seeking an Electrical Engineering Supervisor to provide technical leadership and day-to-day direction for a small team of engineers and technicians. This position combines hands-on electrical engineering expertise with people leadership, project oversight, and continuous improvement. The successful candidate will guide the development and enhancement of engineered products and systems while ensuring work is completed safely, accurately, and in accordance with applicable quality and regulatory standards.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead, mentor, and develop electrical engineers and technicians
- Assign priorities, manage workloads, and monitor team performance
- Provide technical direction for electrical designs, controls, and product improvements
- Review electrical drawings, schematics, specifications, and engineering documentation
- Support projects involving motors, machine controls, and hardware and software integration
- Coordinate engineering changes and new process implementations
- Support the transition of new concepts into commercially viable products
- Partner with Operations, Quality, Sales, and other internal teams
- Monitor departmental performance measures, project progress, and costs
- Promote safety, quality, accountability, and continuous improvement
- Support audits and compliance with applicable industry standards
- Lead process-improvement activities using Lean tools and practices
- Help resolve technical issues affecting customers, production, or product performance
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or another relevant engineering discipline
- At least five years of professional electrical engineering experience
- At least five years of experience leading or supervising a technical team
- Experience with motors, machine control systems, and hardware and software development
- Strong knowledge of electrical drawings, schematics, and CAD systems
- Familiarity with applicable electrical, product-safety, and regulatory standards
- Experience with engineering change processes and project management
- Strong leadership, communication, organization, and problem-solving skills
- Ability to work effectively with customers and employees at all organizational levels
Preferred Experience
- Background in engineered-product or equipment manufacturing
- Familiarity with ISO-based quality systems
- Experience with ERP, product lifecycle, or engineering configuration systems
- Lean manufacturing and continuous improvement experience
- Project Management Professional certification or similar training
- Exposure to intellectual property or patent-related processes
