Primoris Services Corporation is seeking a dedicated professional for the role of equipment coordinator.
Primary Responsibilities
The equipment coordinator will:
- Coordinate all equipment needs for the assigned project.
- Communicate daily with Site Manager, Superintendents, Field Engineers, and Foremen to ensure equipment availability.
- Communicate with Fleet Department on all project equipment needs.
- Submit equipment requests, schedule returns, and process work-order repair requests.
- Follow documented work instructions for checking in and calling off equipment.
- Track weekly equipment utilization hours for the project.
- Recommend shedding underutilized rental equipment to control costs.
- Prioritize company owned equipment utilization.
- Inventory project jobsite monthly to ensure equipment lists are accurate.
- Ensure operator equipment safety inspections are submitted daily.
- Upload all project equipment documentation.
- Ensure defined equipment processes are followed and project equipment tracking systems are updated timely and accurately.
- Familiarize with a variety of jobsite concepts, practices, and work procedures.
- Assess each equipment asset before return or transfer.
- Ensure equipment is serviced, inspected, and repaired prior to project transfer.
- Record and report all operator equipment damage, abuse, and neglect.
- Track and report weekly equipment downtime for the project.
- Serve as jobsite point of contact for all scheduled vendor service calls, equipment deliveries, and pick-ups.
- Interact with Fleet Dispatch Coordinator and Fleet Field Operations Manager to fill project equipment needs.
- Ensure project compliance to all equipment related Fleet and HSE policies and practices.
- Office 50%, Field 50%.
- Ability to travel and relocate to jobsites located across the country is required.
Physical Requirements
The equipment coordinator must:
- Comply with client safety requirements (e.g., clean-shaven, long sleeves, steel-toe boots).
- Pass a physical exam if required.
- Climb and maintain balance on ladders, scaffolding, and stairways.
- Stoop, kneel, crouch, crawl, and work at heights or in confined spaces (e.g., towers, vessels, excavations).
- Lift and carry up to 50 lbs. (Use assistance for heavier loads).
- Stand or walk for extended periods on uneven surfaces (dirt, concrete, asphalt, mud, gravel).
- Wear a respirator and other PPE when required.
Work Location
Industrial construction sites and/or fabrication shops.
Mobility Barriers
The equipment coordinator will encounter:
- Uneven ground
- Obstructed pathways
- Work at low/high elevations
- Confined workspaces
Environmental Conditions
The equipment coordinator will work in:
- Predominantly outdoor work
- Exposure to:
- Extreme heat or cold
- Humidity, rain, and other weather conditions
- Loud noise from tools and machinery
- Potential chemical exposure
Requirements and Qualifications
The equipment coordinator should have:
- Construction equipment experience, possessing skills in the operation and/or equipment management practices.
- Ability to follow work instruction and communicate effectively.
- Ability to analyze and solve problems.
- Ability to make procedural decisions and judgements.
- Detail oriented with the ability to multi-task.
- Sound knowledge of computer software such as MS Outlook and Excel.
- Strong organization and coordination skills.
