Field Agent, Nutrition Programs

Program Review and Monitoring Conduct and coordinate both off-site and on-site administrative and procurement reviews and monitor sites/facilities participating in Child Nutrition Programs. Review and interpret Federal and/or State regulations for Program oversight. Prepare written reports of findings and perform follow-up to ensure compliance and effective implementation of corrective actions. Investigate reports of noncompliance and provide recommendations for quality improvement and corrective action. Provide technical assistance to sponsors participating in Child Nutrition Programs. Support the annual application renewal process for Child Nutrition Programs. Assist in the development and implementation of training and technical assistance materials. Assist in the development of nutrition education materials for sponsors participating in Child Nutrition Programs. Collaborate with all DDOE workgroups, other state agencies and community partners to ensure efficiency and streamline workloads both internally and externally. Collaborate with community organizations and health agencies to increase the number of children being served in the Child Nutrition Programs. Prepare reports (USDA, and/or local) as assigned.

Major Responsibilities: The Field Agent, Nutrition Programs position is responsible for conducting statewide compliance reviews, procurement reviews and monitoring of Child Nutrition Programs; completion of technical assistance; and development and execution of training sessions. This position will focus on one Child Nutrition Program (Child and Adult Care Food Program), with cross training in all Child Nutrition Programs (School Nutrition Programs and Summer Food Service Program).

Essential Qualifications: Must have excellence oral and written communication skills. Must be proficient in performing responsibilities with minimal supervision. Must be skilled in setting priorities, working under pressure, and working in collaboration with others. Must be able to proactively solve problems with professionalism. Must possess excellent interpersonal skills and the ability to deal with staff in a tactful, congenial, and personal manner. Must understand the Department's organizational aims and objectives. Must be experienced in exercising discretion and confidentiality in all professional duties.

Education: Bachelor's degree in nutrition, education, food service, administration, or related health field required. Experience: Minimum of two (2) years of experience working with school and community groups in nutrition or health. Experience working with a team, as well as independently. Experience with program or financial monitoring, auditing, coordination, or oversight Experience with researching and enforcing regulations.

Salary: Salary Range: $80,519.60 to $126,544.00 annually. The final salary will be determined based on the candidate's education and experience in accordance with the Department of Education's compensation policy.
