Our client, a rapidly growing independent Registered Investment Advisor (RIA), is seeking an ambitious and analytical Financial Planning Associate to join their team. This is an outstanding opportunity for an early-career professional looking to develop expertise in financial planning, investment management, and client relationship management while working alongside experienced advisors in a collaborative environment.

The Financial Planning Associate will support the firm's advisors in delivering comprehensive financial planning services and helping clients achieve their long-term financial goals.


Key Responsibilities

  • Assist advisors in preparing comprehensive financial plans, retirement analyses, cash flow projections, and investment recommendations.
  • Gather, organize, and analyze client financial data to support planning engagements.
  • Prepare meeting materials, planning presentations, and client deliverables.
  • Participate in client meetings and document follow-up action items.
  • Conduct research on financial planning topics, investment strategies, insurance solutions, and retirement planning concepts.
  • Utilize financial planning software to develop projections and model planning scenarios.
  • Support ongoing client service needs and planning updates.
  • Maintain accurate client records and ensure data integrity within CRM and planning systems.
  • Collaborate with advisors and operations personnel to ensure a seamless client experience.
  • Stay current on industry trends, planning strategies, and regulatory developments.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Finance, Financial Planning, Economics, Business, Accounting, or a related field.
  • 2+ years of experience in wealth management, financial planning, financial services, or a related field; OR relevant internship experience and/or coursework in financial planning, investments, retirement planning, or wealth management.
  • Strong interest in pursuing a long-term career in financial planning and wealth management.
  • CFP or enrolled in CFP coursework
  • Strong verbal and written communication abilities.
  • High attention to detail and ability to manage multiple priorities.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Excel, Word, and PowerPoint.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Exposure to financial planning software such as eMoney.
  • Familiarity with investment management concepts and financial markets.
  • Experience with CRM systems such as Salesforce.
