Amrize a leading supplier of quality, construction building materials in the United States, is seeking a Mechanic whom is responsible for Perform maintenance and repair of various types of fleet equipment including ready mix trucks, semi tractors, medium duty trucks, and pneumatics. ABOUT THE ROLE
Amrize a leading supplier of quality, construction building materials in the United States, is seeking a Mechanic whom is responsible for Perform maintenance and repair of various types of fleet equipment including ready mix trucks, semi tractors, medium duty trucks, and pneumatics. Maximize equipment availability with efficient and proactive preventative maintenance programs.
WHAT YOU'LL ACCOMPLISH
- Diagnose problems and perform mechanical repair and maintenance to fleet equipment.
- Diagnose faults or malfunctions to determine required repairs using diagnostic equipment such as computerized test equipment and calibration devices.
- Perform routine preventative maintenance such as lubricating, oil changes, and failure analysis.
- Troubleshoot and repair electrical, hydraulic, brakes, and steering problems related to the equipment and its components.
- Perform all maintenance operations in accordance with technical specifications, safety, federal and state regulations.
- Create work orders on repairs and services providing legible and accurate information and input daily repair information in maintenance database.
- Test fleet equipment after repair or assembly to ensure proper performance and compliance with safety, federal and state regulations.
- Rebuild or fabricate parts.
- Meticulously executes and files mandatory Federal Motor Carrier Safety Administration ( FMCSA ) logs, DOT inspection records, brake certifications, and internal fleet maintenance sheets.
- Keep work area and all tools, vehicles, and equipment neat, clean, and in good repair; clean work area at the end of every shift.
- Demonstrate a commitment to communicating, improving and adhering to health, safety and environmental policies in all work environments and areas. Promote a culture of safety and exhibit these behaviors.
WHAT WE'RE LOOKING FOR
- High School diploma or equivalent preferred
- Must have a valid driver's license, Class A or B commercial driver's license preferred
- 3 years experience directly related to the duties or mechanics school graduate (Heavy equipment diesel engines and transmissions)
- Must have the ability to drive standard and automatic transmission trucks.
- Must have the ability to read technical manuals and understand schematic diagrams.
- Must be able to stand for long periods on varied surfaces.
- Must be able to move freely, including the ability to stoop, crawl, and bend at the knees and waist.
- Must be able to lift 100 pounds unassisted.
Additional Requirements:
- Successful candidates must adhere to all safety protocols and proper use of Amrize approved Personal Protection Equipment ("PPE"), including but not limited to respirators. Employees that are required to wear respirators must be clean shaven where the respirator seal meets the face in order to pass the qualitative and quantitative fit tests.
