General Worker Position

Applications from qualified local candidates for the general worker position at CREC Museum Academy are now being accepted. Work Day 10-month position 183 days (including 1-day training, school opening, and cleaning day) 5.25 hours per day/26.25 hours per week (9:00 am to 2:15 pm) Hourly Wage TBD (Per UPSEU contract. Negotiable based on experience, subject to union approval.)

Skills, Knowledge, Qualifications, and Duties:

• High School Diploma or General Education Degree (GED)
• Responsible for all general food preparation, serving, and sanitation procedures.
• Assists with preparing vegetables, fruits, salads, sandwiches, and other menu items.
• Sets up hot and/or cold food areas.
• Performs cleaning duties, including sweeping floors, cleaning equipment and work areas, dishwashing, and pot washing.
• Assists in receiving and storing food items.
• Ability to lift/move up to 30 pounds.
• Assists in serving of daily menu items.
• Cashiering experience desired, but not required.
• Willingness to learn.
• Performs other duties as requested by supervisors.
• Demonstrate the ability to deal effectively and courteously with students, food service department staff, and school personnel.
• Ability to add and subtract two-digit numbers and to multiply and divide with 10s and 100s.
