Forensic Psychiatrist
Apply NowKirby Forensic Psychiatric Center (KFPC), an Office of Mental Health (OMH) Joint Commission accredited facility, is recruiting Board Certified or Board Eligible Psychiatrists for their secure adult facility located in Manhattan, NY.
As a Psychiatrist at KFPC, you will provide comprehensive, patient centered, and recovery focused treatments to individuals admitted by court order including:
- Conducting forensic evaluations and treating for competence restoration (CPL 730.40/730.50) and dangerousness (CPL 330.20)
- Conducting forensic assessments for treatment over objection
- Collaborating with interdisciplinary treatment team and forensic evaluators
- Testifying in court as needed for treatment over objection, competence, and civil commitment

KFPC provides inpatient treatment and rehabilitation to pretrial defendants who were deemed unfit to stand trial and were court ordered for restoration of fitness to stand trial and individuals who have been found not guilty by reason of insanity. Minimum Qualifications:
Psychiatrist 1: License and current registration to practice medicine in New York State, and completion of a training program in psychiatry approved by the American Board of Psychiatry and Neurology (ABPN).
Psychiatrist 2: License and current registration to practice medicine in New York State, and certification in psychiatry approved by the ABPN.

This position is eligible for a Downstate Adjustment of $4,150.
