Frozen Food/Dairy Stock Clerk

Stock Clerk Position

This position serves as a stock clerk primarily for the Frozen Food and Dairy Department stocking the coolers and displays with frozen food and dairy merchandise in the store.

Essential duties and responsibilities include daily inspection of the frozen food and dairy cases ensuring proper temperatures are maintained, ensuring inventory is sufficiently stocked and displayed, ensuring proper signage is on merchandise, checking expiration dates of merchandise, assisting with the unloading of delivery trucks, verifying invoices of merchandise delivered, operating department equipment and tools, retrieving, loading and unloading products and merchandise onto cart to move from back room to displays, providing continuous attention to customer needs, keeping work area clean, orderly, and free from safety hazards, promptly addressing maintenance and safety issues, reporting all accidents promptly, punctuality and good attendance in compliance with company policies, and performing other work-related duties as required to accomplish the objectives of the position.

Secondary duties and responsibilities may include training newly hired employees on stock procedures and process, performing general cleaning duties such as mopping and sweeping, reporting any equipment malfunctions to store or department manager, and assisting store manager on duty in other departments.

Minimum requirements include a high school diploma or general education degree (GED) preferred, minimum of 18 years of age, ability to read and speak English and Spanish preferred, ability to understand and follow instructions in both English and Spanish preferred, ability to effectively present information and respond to questions in one-on-one and small group situations with directors, managers, customers (both internal and external) and the general public, good interpersonal skills, takes responsibility for own actions, ability to work hours and days scheduled, including holidays and weekends, basic math skills and numerical recognition, ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions in written, oral or diagram form, and demonstrates accuracy and thoroughness.
