The Frozen Supervisor oversees the daily operations of the frozen food department, ensuring product availability, proper storage, and an organized, well-maintained sales floor. This role leads the frozen team in maintaining optimal in-stock conditions, controlling shrink, and delivering a clean, efficient shopping experience while supporting overall store performance.
Department Operations
- Supervise daily frozen department functions including receiving, stocking, rotation, and inventory control
- Ensure proper handling and storage of frozen products to maintain quality and food safety
- Maintain strong in-stock conditions and minimize out-of-stocks
- Oversee backroom organization and efficient product flow
Customer Service & Sales
- Provide excellent customer service and assist customers with locating products
- Maintain fully stocked, faced, and organized freezer cases to maximize sales
- Ensure accurate pricing, signage, and promotional execution
Team Leadership & Development
- Lead, train, and support frozen food clerks
- Assign daily tasks and ensure productivity standards are met
- Monitor performance and provide coaching as needed
- Promote a positive, team-oriented work environment
Merchandising & Standards
- Ensure proper product rotation (FIFO) and removal of damaged or outdated items
- Maintain clean, organized freezer cases and aisles
- Execute company merchandising plans, displays, and seasonal resets
Food Safety & Compliance
- Ensure compliance with all food safety and temperature control standards
- Monitor freezer equipment and promptly report issues
- Follow all company policies, safety procedures, and regulatory requirements
Operational & Financial Support
- Assist with inventory counts, ordering accuracy, and shrink control
- Track department performance including sales, waste, and labor usage
- Support efficient labor scheduling and productivity standards
Qualifications
- Previous grocery or frozen department experience preferred
- Knowledge of product rotation, stocking, and inventory practices
- Strong organizational and leadership skills
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and cold conditions
- Basic math and computer skills
- Flexible schedule including early mornings, nights, weekends, and holidays
