The Gas Production Technician will work in a team environment to safely operate, maintain and troubleshoot steam methane reformer, CO2 purification, high purity helium and support systems which supply an on site semiconductor manufacturer.
- Work safely in all situations.
- Champions safety collaboratively and acts as a resource to others concerning plant safety rules, regulations, and company safety policies/procedures; models good safety practices.
- Identify potential maintenance needs; enter them into maintenance management system (Maximo).
- Perform all work in compliance with standard operating and maintenance procedures, utilizing current Life Safety Training skills and safety requirements including safe work permits, energy control isolation and IDLs, confined space entry work, hot work, work plans, pre-job discussions, plant safety inspections, etc.
- Ensure contractors, visitors, co-workers and others comply with company safety policies/procedures. Ideally brings a background in performing plant cold start and warm start with assistance.
- Possesses skills in calibrating and troubleshooting plant analyzers.
- Brings the skills to perform day-to-day operations of facility independently and as part of the team.
- Fosters good judgment in maintaining the reliability and quality of delivered products.
- Bring an interest or background in instrumentation and mechanical systems.
- Learn and follow standard operating procedures (SOPs), corporate procedures; read and interpret blueprints, flow charts, process piping ISOs, simple schematics, P&IDs, electrical schematics; perform basic math operations.
- Write and redline standard operating procedures
- Keep accurate records and be diligent in documentation and record retention policies and procedures.
- Demonstrate proficient knowledge of control board and operator interface computer consoles.
- Perform operator rounds, water samples, truck loading, operations PMs.
- Coordinate and advance the completion of PMs.
- Participate in plant planned outages.
- Contribute to and support high housekeeping and organizational standards.
- Perform other duties as assigned by Plant Management.
- Work rotating shift schedules that may include nights, weekends and holidays.
- Guide operational aspects of the plant outside normal business hours and on weekends.
Are you a MATCH?
Requirements
- High School Diploma or GED required; Technical Associates degree preferred
- 6+ years of technical training or operations experience
- Ability to work extended hours/shift work (nights, weekends and possibly holidays) as business needs dictate.
- Valid Driver's License
- Knowledge/understanding of instrumentation, rotating equipment and piping systems.
- Familiarity with regulatory requirements for operating plants (Process Safety Management, EPA regulations, FDA regulations, state/local regulations).
- Knowledge in the proper methods of locking out and isolating equipment.
- Ability to use computers-knowledge of Microsoft Office software.
- Ability to work in a team environment; demonstrated self motivated attitude.
- Good verbal/written communication skills in order to deal effectively with team members, management and external customers.
- Qualified in operation of forklift and man lift preferred.
- Highly organized with the ability to handle multiple tasks and prioritize work.
- Must be able to wear required PPE safety equipment including, hardhat, safety glasses, safety shoes/boots, and FRC clothing
- Full range of motion; ability to lift 50 lbs.
- Able to climb ladders, work off elevated platforms/surfaces
- Able to work in non-conditioned environment for extended periods
- Able to enter confined spaces for inspection, testing and work
