SUMMARY

Perform parts and material installation and assembly tasks per work instructions and verbal leadership.

RESPONSIBILITIES

Assembles, aligns, tests and inspects parts to form complete units or subassemblies of a variety of standard products where procedures and methods are prescribed. This may involve many parts, close tolerances and interrelated factors.

Assembles or produces component parts into completed units within blueprint specification and/or design tolerances.

Maintains acceptable performance standards for assembly, production, quality, safety and housekeeping.

Performs minor adjustments, repairs or setups to equipment or machines.

Inspects parts or completed units by using visual inspection, gages, tape measures, check fixtures, calipers, or other inspection equipment.

Responsible for proper daily storage of hand tools.

Coordinates with other setup or leader personnel for associate job assignments, or setup personnel for movement of materials or coordination of duties.

5S Responsible for maintaining daily 5S standard.

Performs other duties as assigned by management.

Follows quality service standards and complies with procedures, rules and regulations.

Keeps production supervisor advised of work status, workload, problems and progress as related to work assignments.

COMPETENCIES

1 - 3 years' experience in cutting, fitting and measuring, ability installing/assembling components such as bus seats, windows, doors, interior lights, grab bars, and other interior bus fixtures.

1 year experience understanding bus assembly processes, lean manufacturing concepts, experience blueprint reading skills, year experience in basic computer skills, basic math knowledge. Ability to understand written and verbal work instructions, Ability to understand and read blueprints. May work various shifts.

WORK ENVIRONMENT

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly exposed to a high level of noise. Machinery operation requires the use of safety equipment to include but not limited to eye safety glasses, hearing protectors, work boots, and hardhats. Loose fitting clothes and jewelry are not permitted.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS

Ability to walk, stand, crouch, bend, kneel, lift, carry, and reach as needed in large and tight spaces. Manual dexterity used regularly with occasional repetitive finger motion. Lifting up to 25 pounds; occasionally 50 pounds. Hearing and speaking required. Specific vision abilities include close and distance vision, identify colors, eye/hand coordination, and depth perception.

Assigned as required.

REQUIRED EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE

High school diploma or GED

PAY RANGE

$17.20-$25.00/Hour
